"The setting is beautiful as is the beach and the swimming pool is good however the resort charges top dollar but is run on a shoestring. The beds are so hard it is impossible to sleep, even the luxury bungalows have no hot shower or fridge and when it rains water pours on your head when using the toilet. Ah so that is what the umbrella was for. The bathroom walls were covered in black mould when we arrived. Several of the loungers were broken. We found the restaurant and drink charges high compared with resorts close by and the food was of poor quality." | ||
"When we arrve we were expecting to find a lively resort. -Pool deserted-Pool Bar Close-Karaoke we were only 2!-why no mini safe in the room!!- Good snooker table if you play it! why not just a pool table!-Food in the main restaurant, a disaster for a self proclaimed 5star resort. "I first used this hotel about ten years ago when it was the Dusit Princess and the best hotel in Ranong. As it has morphed into the Tinidee it is beginning to fail. On check in I found I was overcharged for my room, Thia walk in guests were charged 1350 Baht, on booking I was told no such rooms were available. Room was tatty, for instance one window lock missing. Restaurant, expensive, poor food, staff surly. Sadly it seems this is still the best hotel in Ranong -- a minor provincial capital a long way from anywhere. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | ||

"Hotel is in a great location, Room bit on the small side and bathroom could do with a bit of a spruce up and i,m not a fan of adjoining doors. Good reception staff. I like Thai breakfast, not a huge choice but what ther was i enjoyed.There is a bar next to hotel which is part of complex, very expensive for evening drinks. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | ||
"Do NOT GO THERE. The Hotel has a nice ocean view, but it is very far out and it looks like a Hotel from a horror movie. It looks really shabby, nobody speaks english not even the TV. The room reservation list on the web was confusing. The wordings seemed to be unfamiliar to what I ve seen in my years of traveling. For example, the list indicated...Superior Double =1,300 superior Twin =1,400.I had to call to find out if I wanted the king/queen size for two persons, which one I should pick. After several attempts to try to understand the front desk lady, it turned out that I must pick the twin selection and type in the request for a king sized bed!!! She insistedf that the double meant to be for one person and the twin for 2 people in the room. Why can t you list the rooms by the sizes of the beds and clearify the rate for one or two persons in a separate box as they all do in the United States?, May 25, 2009

The best part was the hot mineral water in the bathrooms and the charming heated pool separated into 4 sections, that provided both privacy and social at the same time. "Very pleasant stay at the airy and welcoming Tinidee Hotel in the little town of Ranong. Room was clean and comfortable and had tea and coffee facilities. "This is a good hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Karaoke in lounge at nite well sung by beautiful ladies but the songs are very mournful and will send you to bed crying into your cocktail.The town of Ranong has little to offer the tourist other than as a launching point for the nearby islands. Did boat trip to Koh Payam and it was a very relaxing day. Extremely difficult to find departure pier in Ranong.Ranong has a vast market, but has liitle for the tourist. Mostly fruit and veg, meats and fish and household goods. Most stalls run by Myanmar immigrants. Spotted some rats darting in and out of drainage system.In summary, hotel is fine, but Ranong has little going for it other than islands. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span>" | ||

"The staff in the hotel were superb. The reception staff patiently answered all our detailed questions, finding out more information for us where necessary and even laying on a free taxi to help us get to various booking offices for our onward journey. Restaurant staff were extremely attentive and in general all the staff were friendly and courteous - a credit to the hotel. The hotel itself was extremely good value.
